August Empties

It's once again the time to throw things away. It's actually one of my favorite things to do because it gives me a chance to see that I'm actually using things and also to throw out old or bad products. This month I think I have as many things to throw away as I emptied. I also sent two boxes full of products to my sister.

  • Assured Cotton Rounds - I got these at Dollar Tree. They're okay, but they are also a dollar. Would I Buy It Again? Yes. I'm not that picky about these things and they are cheap.
  • Biore Deep Cleaning Pore Strips - I've used these for years. They don't really do as good a job as I really want, but they do a little and sometimes I feel like I need them. Would I Buy It Again? I will get them again eventually.
  • Earth Therapeutics Hydrogel Under-Eye Recovery Patch - I really like these under-eye patches. I don't know if they actually do anything but I find that they help when my eyes feel really tired or when I have a headache that aspirin doesn't fix. Would I Buy It Again?  I will probably pick these up next time I got to Ulta.
  • e.l.f Lotion Wipes in Vanilla & Coconut - This was a sample pack with 10 sheets rather than 15. It also didn't have the plastic lid. They were just as good as the previous ones I finished. Would I Buy It Again? I won't get this scent but I will eventually get more when I finish my Vaseline spray and other e.l.f. pack.
  • Bath and Body Works Fresh Picked Tangerines soap - I like Bath and Body Works soaps. This was a nice scent, but not my favorite. Would I Buy It Again?  I will buy Bath and Body Works soap again... maybe not this scent again if it's available.
  • Crest Pro Health Clinical Mouthwash - This is the best mouthwash ever. My teeth feel almost dentist clean because of this. Would I Buy It Again?  It's the only one I'll buy now.
  • A bunch of samples. I thought about doing them all individually, but I have the same general consensus about most of them. I'd buy: Biore Steam Activated Cleanser. I'd consider: Lancome Cream Serum and Shiseido Super Corrective Serum I won't buy: All the rest. I do have the Urban Decay Poreless Primer and Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but they aren't my favorites.
  • Freeze It Hairspray - I got this in an old Birchbox and have been using it for a while. I think it might still have some in it but the sprayer seems clogged. It was hairspray and nothing really special. It did smell like Blowpops. Would I Buy It Again? I don't use a ton of hairspray. I have several bottles in my cabinet so I don't see myself needing more any time soon. It wasn't bad and it does seem to be a fairly reasonable price at the drugstore so, if I need some more someday, I might consider this.
  • Mario Badescu Aloe Vera Toner - This was okay but nothing that stood out. Would I Buy It Again? It's more than I'm willing to pay for it. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great and there are others that are cheaper and better.
  • Dior Diorshow Lash Primer - I did like this, but this is an expensive product. Would I Buy It Again? No. I do want to try another lash primer because I liked how this worked. This one is just more expensive that I want to spend.
  • Carmex Healing Lotion - This was an average lotion. I used it as a hand lotion and for dry patches, but it didn't have any long term results. I did like the smell... it smelled liked Cabbage Patch Kids. I pulled out my old doll and it smells like this lotion. Would I Buy It Again? No. I liked the smell but the rest was average.
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion - This is mostly gone and kind of dried out. I could have tried to cut it open, but I don't want to mess with all that. Would I Buy It Again? Urban Decay often does samples of these in kits and palettes. I have quite a few of these already. I also have a ton of other primer samples and full sized primers. If I ever need any more eye shadow primer, I will consider this but I'd be more likely to buy a cheaper option.
  • Dr. Brandt Dark Circles Away Collagen Eye Serum - I only got a few uses out of this and it was not enough to see if it worked. Would I Buy It Again? Probably not. If it worked, it would be great but I just couldn't see anything happening. I might try to get another sample to see if works with more use.
  • Mario Badescu Almond & Honey Face Scrub - I didn't really like this. It was supposed to be a scrub but felt more like a mask. When I washed it off, it felt like there was a film left on my face. Would I Buy It Again? No.
  • Mario Badescu Collagen Moisturizer - I could barely put this product on my face without it looking really greasy. As a result, I didn't really use enough to moisturize. Would I Buy It Again? No. This is one of the worst moisturizers I've tried lately.
  • e.l.f. Complexion Perfection Powder - This isn't completely empty but all the product is in the corners and it's hard to use now. Would I Buy It Again? Yes. I like this powder and it's only $3. I don't know how much complexion perfecting it does but it works as a powder.
  • Avon Anew Advanced Retexturizing Peel - I didn't actually finish this. I used to like this product but I don't really like this now. It felt really gross and chemically on my skin. Would I Buy It Again? No. I'm not someone who wants all natural products all the time, but I do try to make that choice when I can. This just felt so bad on my skin that I didn't want to use it again.
  • John Frieda Frizz-Ease Heat Defeat spray - I did not finish this but decided to get rid of it. Every time I use it, my hair feels really dry. Would I Buy It Again? No. I don't usually even use heat protector sprays because I don't do much heat on my hair.
  • Burt's Bees Naturally Ageless Eye Cream - I was going to use this but it smelled slightly off. Would I Buy It Again? No. I was only going to try to use this up. It didn't really do anything the times that I did use it.
  • Suki Face Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser - I was going to use this but it was completely dried out. Would I Buy It Again? No.
  • Nuance Correction Spot Treatment - I feel like this isn't effective at all. I'm tired of trying to use it up when it doesn't work. I'd rather try to find something that does. Would I Buy It Again? No.
  • Too Faced Lip Insurance - I've tried to use this but it dries my lips out so bad that my lip products look worse than without it. I hate throwing out high end products, but it's got to go. Would I Buy It Again? No. I hate this.
  • NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Brown - This looked really frosty on. I'm just never going to wear it so it's time to go. Would I Buy It Again? No. I dislike this color specifically and think the product in general is only okay. There are much better jumbo lip pencils out there.
  • Philosophy The Color of Grace lip gloss in Pretty Please - This is a really sheer pink and it doesn't show up. Would I Buy It Again? Absolutely not. I've hated all the Philosophy makeup products that I tried. I don't like pan lip glosses, either.
  • Wet n Wild eye shadow - This eye shadow is discolored around the edges. Would I Buy It Again? No. I got this as part of a kit at Big Lots. I don't think Wet n Wild makes these particular eye shadows anymore but they aren't as good as the color icon ones.
  • Random Cheap Drugstore palettes by Starry, Color Concept and Profusion. None of these are terrible eye shadow palettes for super cheap brands and they are good for young teens with little money. I have no use for them, though, and it didn't seem worth trying to fit them into the boxes I sent my sister. Would I Buy It Again? Going forward, I only want to buy products I really like - basically quality over quantity. I just don't see any of these brands being part of that.
  • Wet n Wild Glassy Gloss in Glass Confusion - I tried to use this but I really didn't like it. Would I Buy It Again? No. I finally remembered that this came in the Fauna set, but I would never buy this by itself.
  • Claire's Mascara - This came in a set. I thought I'd give it a try and it turns out that it is purple.... I thought it was just the packaging. That wasn't the problem, though. It didn't do anything but put a faint purple tint on my lashes. Would I Buy It Again? No. I wasn't ever particularly inclined to buy mascara from Claire's and this didn't change my mind.
  • .mark Mini Mark It Stick for Eyes in Cocoa Bean - I just keep finding these little .mark products in drawers. Like the others, this one is really old and I just don't want to use it. Would I Buy It Again? No.
  • Cranky Girlz eyeshadows - I got these one Christmas at Walgreens. Like the palettes above, I just have no use for them. Would I Buy It Again? No.
  • Eyeshadow Trio - I can't remember who this is from. I bought it on allcosmeticswholesale.com a while ago and it was from a Twilight set. It's not great, though. Would I Buy It Again? No. It's not all that good and it's tiny.
