Colorphase color changing nail polish

I found these Colorphase nail polishes at Rite Aid. They are supposed to be color changing but I'd never heard of this brand so I got one to try it out.

The clear top coat is supposed to make the polish color change.

What it looks like before the clear top coat.

What it looks like after the top coat is applied. It really doesn't seem like it's color changing so much as the top coat makes it look darker.
