May 2012 Favorites... and one dislike

I have a few favorites this month. Most are things that I've had for a while, but really got into this past month and two are new ones I hadn't tried before.

Fyrinnae Finishing Powder. I've had this a while but just started using it this month after I ran out of my other powder. I really like how it looks. The only thing is that it's loose powder and I'm not used to it.

Benefit 10. I've used this before but have used it a lot during May because it's an easy way to get blush and bronzer in one.

Benefit boi-ing concealer. I had the Confessions of a Concealaholic box and I got the full size when it ran out. I don't use it for everything, but when there is something hard to cover I like this.

Jack Black lip balm. I was using a different one but I lost it. I found this in a drawer and decided to use it. It's really moisturizing and it stays on for a long time.

Benefit Eye Bright. This was also in the Confessions of a Concealaholic box. I actually like the pen form because it's easier to apply. I didn't think it would help, but it does make me look less tired.

MAC Teddy eyeliner. I use this every day. It goes really well with my next favorite.

Loreal Infallible eyeshadow in Pink Sapphire. I love the Loreal Infallible shadows and they were in my last favorites. But Pink Sapphire has become my favorite color. I even went to every drugstore until I found another one.

And now for the product I hated this month.

Revlon PhotoReady Translucent Finishing Powder.
It has sparkles... I don't want sparkles in my powder. It made my face look weird. For someone that likes sparkles in their powder, this may be great.

Sugarpill Heart Breaker Palette swatches

I just got the Sugarpill Heart Breaker palette this morning. This is the newest product from Sugarpill, which is good because I had all the stuff I really wanted from them for a while before this release. Their eye shadows are great but they don't have new products come out all the time like a lot of other companies.

All the colors in this palette are available individually as well, but they are $12 each so the palette is the best deal at $34

I love the cute new sticker.

Essence Legends of the Sky swatches

I got some new Essence products at Ulta today. I really like Essence because it's so cheap and yet it's actually pretty good. What I hate about Essence is that it's not so widely available and a lot of the collections that they release don't ever make it here. They had some cute stuff that I never found at Ulta.

I'm not sure if this is everything that is part of the Legends of the Sky collection, but this is all that they had on the display. I think there were probably more liner/shadow sticks that just the one that was there.

Orly Dark Shadows nail polish swatches

I actually hated the Dark Shadows movie. I wasn't going to get these, because I saw them after I saw the movie, but I really liked all the colors in this collection.

Lime Crime Palette D'Antoinette swatches

Lime Crime released their second fantasy palette, Palette D'Antoinette, at the beginning of May. I got it a week ago, but have been working so much that I have just been able to swatch it. I like these colors better than the ones in the Chinadoll palette (though I did like those too) and I think that they'd appeal to a wider range of people.

Urban Decay Build Your Own Palette

I heard about Urban Decay's Build Your Own Palette and reformulated eye shadows recently, but I wasn't going to order any yet. I was in Ulta, though, and saw the palette and a few of the new eye shadows so I got the palette and one of the eye shadows in a color I'm pretty sure I don't have.

The palette itself is $18 and it comes with a free eyeshadow, Walk of Shame, that is exclusive to the palette. The eye shadows are also $18. According to the filter function on Urban Decay's site, there are no new shades in these reformulated eye shadows, but there are 29 that are newly single.

I wish the eye shadows had an option where they could be purchased in just the tray that fits in the palette at a slightly cheaper price. They still have to be taken out of the case and they don't just pop out. It may be easier than having to depot them for a regular palette but it still takes some effort. I do like the new formula, though.

The palette also only hold 6 shadows and that isn't a lot.

Wet n Wild Craze Crackle nail polish swatches

Construction Zone, Inmate in Love, Blue a Fuse, Pretty Pink Punk, Living in the Limelight

For the crackle to work well, the polish needs to be put on very thinly. I put a little too much on with the yellow and it doesn't look right. Like with any crackle polish, the crackle kind of does what it wants.

Nyx Color Lip Balm swatches

Nyx color lip balms were level 1 on Ulta's reward program. I had a level 5 this time and I didn't really see anything else that I wanted so I got 5 of the Nyx lip balms. And I noticed that all the names of the lip balms mean thank you in other languages and that was kind of cool.

Spasibo, Sukriya, Danke, Merci, Grazie

Colorphase color changing nail polish

I found these Colorphase nail polishes at Rite Aid. They are supposed to be color changing but I'd never heard of this brand so I got one to try it out.

Party Perfect Set by Sugarkiss by Elf swatches

I got this set at Toys R Us. There are a few Sugarkiss products and they are about the same quality as regular elf products and about the same price, but they don't have individual products.

NYX Crimson Amulet palette swatches

I've been stuck at home today because I've had people working on my house today, so I got a lot of swatching done. I'm starting off with the NYX Crimson Amulet palette. This palette is inspired by the new Dark Shadows movie that comes out next week. While I'm dreading the movie because I love the original series and the new movie doesn't have the right feel, I did like the palette look.
